The White House Nursery Alfreton opened it's doors in September 2O17 after a 6 month redesign. Once operating as The Ashwood Inn pub, the building underwent a major renovation to create the fantastic space we have now.

BABY ROOM (O-2 YEARS)

Children in the baby unit benefit from a large open plan room with both a carpeted play area and a hard floor area for creative play and meal times. The unit includes a kitchenette with fridge and bottle warming facilities, meaning staff have everything they need to care for the children throughout the day. They also have access to their very own roof garden with soft astro turf, so they can enjoy outdoor play directly from their unit.

TODDLERS (2-3 YEARS)

The toddler unit has a carpeted area, hard floor area and it's own kitchenette. Here the children also have access to a children's bathroom which encourages independence and personal care skills. From here the children have access to the large, open plan garden via patio doors.

PRE-SCHOOL (3-5 YEARS)

The preschool unit is a very large, open plan room spanning the entire width of the building across the back. Children have bags of space to explore and move around different styles of play and activities as they choose. The unit has two access points to the garden via patio doors, allowing free flow play indoors and outdoors when needed.

OUTDOOR AREA

The outdoor space comprises of a flat grassed area, a cycle track to ride around, an allotment, mud kitchen, outdoor classroom and nature trail. There are many benefits of outdoor play for children, so we like to give them as much opportunity to explore natural materials and various aspects of nature as we can by using this space.
