THE WHITE HOUSE NURSERY IN OAKWOOD
WELCOME
The White House Nursery Oakwood is the third setting to join the White House Nursery group back in 2014, since then the dedicated team has worked hard to establish a secure, enriching and enjoyable environment for children to thrive.
The nursery operates from a fantastic two storey building complete with separate cabin to the rear, roof garden and rainbow bridge - providing access to the garden which wraps around the entire setting.

We are an all-year-round nursery providing high-quality childcare for children aged 0–5 years. We accept government funded hours from 9 months and Tax-Free Childcare, helping families access flexible and affordable early years education.
The nursery benefits from air-conditioned rooms, CCTV throughout the setting, and secure facial recognition entry systems, giving families peace of mind that children are cared for in a safe and secure environment.

BABY ROOM (O-2 YEARS)

The baby room is a very spacious, relaxing and calm environment where staff become acquainted with each child to understand their individual personalities. The room is the perfect environment for the babies to explore on their own, crawling and learning how to walk around the different play areas, with plenty of natural light streaming through from the floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the children look over the gardens. In addition to the play area, the babies take regular naps in our separate bedroom with soothing music in our individual comfortable, secure cots. We also have a fantastic astro turf garden with canopy, so the babies can enjoy outdoor play in all weathers, just like the bigger children!
TODDLERS (2-3 YEARS)
Our Toddler area allows the children to independently explore and build up their confidence in every day tasks, including using the children’s toilet facilities and serving themselves at meal times. Not only this, the staff teach the children how to socialise with other children, helping them to use basic manners and encouraging them to share with others. The toddler room has direct access to the outdoors through our beautiful conservatory area, which is used for creative and messy play or through the doors out into the courtyard area filled with lots of exciting activities.
PRE-SCHOOL (3-5 YEARS)
The pre-schoolers take over the upstairs floor of the building, with two large open space rooms including the playroom and the arts & crafts room. The pre-school area also has an outdoor balcony allowing the children to freely flow from indoors to outdoors and experience all weather fun. In pre-school our staff prepare the children for life in school and cover all areas of learning in the activities and experiences they provide.
The children can free flow between the arts and craft area and the carpeted area to access all kinds of interesting activities on offer. These include the block play and building area, our home corner and dressing up area.
OUTDOOR AREA
To compliment the new nursery refurbishment, the Oakwood team have worked with local landscapers to create a fantastic outdoors play area for the children, including bike tracks, trim trails, allotments, tunnels and sensory play areas. Our custom made rainbow bridge allows the children immediate access to the garden from the upper floor of the nursery, a unique feature of this particularly beautiful building.
