Well done, you survived the week and got to Friday! We hope you had lots of fun along the way. Have you enjoyed and tried our daily activities?
The great thing about these activities is they can be done again and again, and they are FREE! You could do them every day, several times a day if you wanted, adapting and extending them to suit your child’s engagement and enjoyment.
Don’t feel like you always have to introduce something new all the time, as this can overwhelm children and they need time to develop and practice their skills. If your child enjoys an activity then repeat it, again and again. Children learn and develop skills and techniques through repetition and practice so with all these activities the more you do them with your children the better they will become at these skills. You will know when it is time to do something else when your child will loses interest. So today why not revisit the activities you have done throughout the week.
Play peek a boo/hide and seek
Why not hide but use a sound to help your child find you
Use sounds to create music
Have a pots and pans band
Recreate sounds you hear around the house
Add sounds to children’s favourite songs and rhymes
Are you ready for the weekend?
What did you do last weekend? What worked well, what not so well? Learn from this, plan what you might do but keep the weekend more flexible and less structured. Approach this weekend with positivity and enthusiasm, and your children will pick up on this and therefore also be positive and enthusiastic.
Why not try…?
Baking
Gardening
Playing games
Having a film day
Having a pyjama day
Making a den
Dressing up
Putting on a show
Being together and having time to enjoy one another’s company
You are doing an amazing job keeping your children entertained and happy throughout this time, keep up the good work!
Remember we want to see what you have been up to so make sure you share photos and videos with us via Facebook Messenger!
See you again on Monday….
